Summer is here...!

Sorry! I've been away for a while again.  

It is simply unbelievable to me that half of 2012 is already gone...!

気がつけば、もう６月！

最近とても忙しくて、なかなかアップできなかった〜。

I know I know....bad excuse.

先週は、お仕事でサンフランシスコにある、

ピクサーアニメーションスタジオに行って来たよ。

ここに来るのは、二回目。

ここに来るたび、こんな素敵な会社だったら、

今すぐここで働きたい！って思っちゃう。

Sorry I didn't get to post much lately.

I've been so busy with work, travel etc etc.

I know I know....bad excuse.

I was in San Francisco last week visiting Pixar Animation Studio.

This is my second time at Pixar.

As you know, I'm not an animator or anything 

but every time I come here, I think to myself 

"At an amazing office like this?

I'd love to work here right now...!"

That's how much I love it.

The environment and the building...

everything about this company is just so magical☆

It is May 18th today and "BATTLESHIP" finally opens in the US. 

For those of you who have or haven't decided what to do on this Friday night,

5 more days and counting 'till to the opening of "BATTLESHIP" in the U.S.

I wore this beautiful vintage kimono to the LA Premiere of "BATTLESHIP" at NOKIA theater.

Mikako actually flew in from Japan just for this Premiere.

Thanks to Mikako, even chairman of Universal Studios, 

Donna spotted me on the carpet and gave me a compliment.

So thank you, Mikako!!

「バトルシップ」全米公開まであと５日。

ノキアシアターであった「バトルシップ」LAプレミアへはヴィンテージの着物を来て

レッドカーペットならぬ、ブルーカーペットを歩きました。

ヘアメイクの小野美佳子さんはこのプレミアのためにわざわざ日本から来てくれたんです。

おかげさまでプレミアではUniversal Studioのチェアーマンである、ドナさん他沢山の方から声をかけてもらったり、

とにかく大好評でした。

美佳子さん、thank you SO much...!!!

"Dark Shadows"

I had a chance to go see "Dark Shadow"'s pre-screening last weekend.

I cracked up a few times during the film but it is a fantasy film filled with black humors.
As you can already see from the poster, Barnabas Collins is made for Johnny and he is just perfect!
You can actually tell from the movie, how much the cast and crew enjoyed making this film.
I was especially drawn to this new actress, Bella Heathcote.
She fits right into the world of Tim Burton.
I can't wait to see her in new Brad Pitt film "Killing Them Softly."

ジョニー•デップが怪物くんソックリな話題の作品「ダークシャドウ」のスクリーニングに先週行くチャンスがあって、一足お先に見てきました。

ティム•バートンワールドが送る、何度かクスって笑える
ブラックユーモア満載のファンタジー。

ジョニーは相変わらずのハマリ役で、きっと撮影現場は楽しかったんだろうな、

って雰囲気が伝わってくるような作品。

中でも重要な鍵を握る、ベラ•ヒースコートは

何の違和感もなくティム•バートンworldにとけ込める素質を持った女優さん。
次の作品はブラッド•ピット主演の"Killing Them Softly."

今後の活躍が楽しみ。とってもチャーミングでした。

Japan April, 2012 - Kyoto -

日本滞在記、ラストは京都。

満開には一週間くらい早かったけど、

時間がゆっくり流れていて、とにかく落ち着く。

ここ数日、色々とバタバタしていたので、

京都の写真を見ながら落ち着きを取り戻そうっと。

桜の時期に京都に行けるなんて、本当に幸せ者。

今度は、紅葉の時期に行きたいな、ぜひ。

you can actually breathe.

I've been so occupied with some of the issues
 I've been dealing with lately which made me restless.

It made me realize I need to breathe in deep and relax a bit.

I'm very fortunate that I got to go to Kyoto during this time of the year.

I wish I get to go see tinted autumnal leaves next time...!

Japan, April 2012 - Food...!-

This is just a few from what I ate in Japan.

Four season is portrayed beautifully in small dishes. 

It is like an Art. 

Sigh.

You can only imagine me smiling eating these feasts

but if I were to add....I wish I ate more junk this time.

Like takoyaki, Moss burger and KFC :P

今回日本で頂いた、ご馳走の数々。

四季があって、器ひとつひとつに

その時々の新鮮な旬の物が食べれるのは本当に幸せ。

本当にアートだよね。

ため息。

どれも質や鮮度をとっても、アメリカで食べるそれとは

もちろん違うのだけど。

一番違いを感じるのはお米。

この光沢や粘りはお米もお水もすべてが

関係しているんだろうけど、こんなにご飯がおいしいなら

付けもにお味噌汁、もうそれだけで幸せ！！

しいて言えば、今回ジャンク的なものはあまり食べれなかったこと。

たこ焼きとか、モスバーガーとかKFCとかね。(๑´ڡ`๑)♡

もうすぐ全米公開を控えた「バトルシップ」、

日本に居るお友達からも「観たよ〜」と嬉しいメールがたくさん♡

あの迫力は映画館でしか伝わらないと思うので、まだ観てない人は、ぜひ映画館で！

そして今回の一時帰国は６年振りの桜シーズン♫

本当にきれいで、やはり四季があるのはいいな、としみじみ思いました。

"Battleship" is soon going to be open in the U.S. on May 18th.

I've been receiving so many emails from friends and family in Japan

 telling me that how much they enjoyed watching me on a big screen makes me just so happy!

The intensity and great visual is definitely worth watching it in the movie theater...!!!

So if you still haven't see the movie, please go see it now!

I also go back to Japan pretty often but it has been six years 

since I last visited Japan during cherry blossom season.

It was breathtakingly beautiful and I appreciated the importance and beauty of having four seasons.

少しずつ、日本での写真をアップしていきたいと思います。

今回の日本行き、行く前は不安ばかりだったんだけど

実際に行ってみて、愛する家族やお友達に会って、

とにかくとっても楽しい毎日で、帰りの飛行機では号泣してました。

やっぱり日本はいいね。

なんか写真見てたら、また恋しくなってきちゃった。

Before going onto this trip I was worried about so many things. 

Once you are physically there and meeting your loved ones,

all the worries simply went away and I had awesome time.

On my plane back to L.A, I was crying my eyes out.

Japan is so freak'n awesome!

Looking back these photos makes me miss it already.

writing Thank you cards

Eメールで気軽にお返事を書いたり、お礼を言ったりすることが簡単に

出来る時代だからこそ、Thank you カードを書くようにしている。

特別、気持ちを込めたいときはいつも手書きで。

プレゼントを送ったり、メールでお礼をしたりするのは簡単なこと。

それより何より、手書きのお手紙をもらうのは嬉しいし、

やっぱり気持ちが伝わりやすいと思うから。

今日は、日本でお世話になったあの人たちに一人、一人、想いを込めて。

Today internet and Emails makes everything so easy. 

From just saying hello to quick apologies and thank you mails. 

That's why I try to write Thank you cards.

It's easy to show your gratitudes by sending emails or 

expensive gifts but that's why receiving a hand written cards 

makes it just a bit more special, I think.

So today I'm writing my Thank you cards to those people 

who were exceptionally nice to me.

私が日本に行っている間、

実はかなり危険な状態だったみたい。

不慣れな説明に加え、優しく教えてもらっても、

全然理解できなかったのに最後まで

優しく対応してくれて、しかもサイトはbetter than ever....!

While I'm gone to Japan, the software I use had

apparently been infected by a malware.

BATTLESHIP World Premiere in Tokyo

I flew in Japan a few days ago to attend my sister, Yui's wedding. The Wedding was just so breathtaking but I will post about the wedding some other time. When I told Peter Berg (Director of "BATTLESHIP") about my visit to Tokyo, he invited me to the World Premiere of the "BATTLESHIP" :)
The Premiere took place in Yoyogi during stormy weather yesterday. It was such an exciting but nervous experience watching myself on a huge screen but movie was so fantastic...! It's a perfect summer entertainment for sure!! It opens in May for US but please go see "BATTLESHIP" in theaters near you ;)
Photos are from after party with lead actor Taylor Kitsch. I look like I'm hosting Taylor at Ginza or something. lol.

数日前から妹の結婚式に出席するため、日本に来ています。ウェディングは本当に息をのむような美しさで、Leniはずっと泣いていました。笑　結婚式については、またゆっくり書きたいと思ってるけど、今日は昨日行って来たばかりの「バトルシップ」のワールドプレミアについて。
日本に行く前に監督のピーター•バーグと話していたら、「せっかく日本に行くのなら、ぜひワールドプレミアにもおいでよ！」と招待してくださいました。この、ピーターって以前は俳優さんもやっていて、一見、強面なんだけど、本当に本当にすごくやさしいの。巨大スクリーンに映る自分を見るのって、エキサイティングでもあり、緊張もするよね。でも、映画は本当に豪華で夏の大作としてピッタリのとてもエンターテイニングな作品になっていました。みなさんも、ぜひ映画館で観てくださいね。
